Hendra

Set on a quiet street beside the racecourse in Hendra, this project reworks a much-loved character home for the way its owners actually live. Like many homes of its era, it had grown closed-in and dark over the years. The brief was simple: open the home to light and air, make the most of the block, and modernise it in a way that feels unmistakably the owners’ own.

We’re raising the existing home and carrying out a full internal and external renovation, with a new extension off the rear opening the home to the backyard – anchored by a generous living space and kitchen. Playful colour runs through the interiors, a considered, characterful take on the classic Queenslander.
